One of the main factors affecting skin health is the process of
cellular regeneration, or the speed at which dead skin cells are
replaced by new ones. As we age, this process naturally slows down,
resulting in duller, less healthy looking skin. A chemical peel is one
of the least invasive ways to improve the appearance of your skin. The
procedure is quick, with minimum discomfort and downtime.
How it works
Chemical peels loosen the bonds that hold dead skin cells together,
allowing dead skin to slough off and reveal the softer, smoother skin
underneath.
Chemical peels can improve the appearance of:
• Acne or acne scars
• Age spots
• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Irregular pigmentation
• Sun damage
• Rough or scaly patches
• Dark spots ( Melasma )

We offer a variety of peeling solutions for all skin types, including
peels safe for acne-prone or sensitive skin. Dr Casal or any of our
certified Aesthetitians will determine the best strength and formula
for your individual needs based on your skin condition and available
recovery time.
• Light chemical peels remove the outer layer of the skin with a
light exfoliation, resulting in a healthier glow. Your doctor will use
a combination of mild alpha hydroxy acids and beta hydroxy acids to
address uneven pigment, dry skin, or fine wrinkles.
• Medium chemical peels are ideal for patients with acne scars,
deeper wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. The chemicals used will remove
skin cells from both the outer layer of the skin and the upper part of
the middle skin layer.
• Deep chemical peels offer the most dramatic results, but
require a longer recovery period. Deep chemical peels can help improve
the appearance of deeper facial wrinkles, sun damage, blotchy area, or
even pre-cancerous growths.
During a chemical peel, the chemical solution is applied to clean skin
and left for up to 10 minutes. You may feel a slight stinging
sensation. The chemical solution is then washed off and neutralized.
Depending on the strength of your peel, your skin may turn red or
brown following the procedure and you may experience some peeling. It
may take no down time or up to six weeks for your skin to return to
normal.
